Welcome to -Project- H.O.R.D.E.R.S™
Hey scavengers, welcome to the official -Project- H.O.R.D.E.R.S™ Itch.io page.
The game is currently in development and unreleased. The v0.1.0 Alpha release is planned for sometime next year (maybe earlier)
That means everything you see here is just the beginning of something big, weird and probably unstable.
Current Status
The core systems are either in place or being stitched together already. This update covers everything completed recently (not previously) in progress or bugged so far.
[In Progress]
- Procedural map generator: Space stations and ship interiors generate correctly, but layout logic needs some fixing.
- Rocket weapon type: Launcher is mostly functional, but still needs tuning for blast radius and reload logic.
- Inventory: Inventory system is complete, but separating item types (DNA, artifacts, weapons) and showing rarity is still underway.
- Resolution & target framerate settings: Functioning but resolution scaling is buggy and capped framerates are inconsistent?
[Completed]
- Ship Mainframe Computer: Fully working DOS-style console located in the engine room. Used for upgrades, repairs, power routing and other internal systems.
- B.U.D.D.Y™ chatter and interaction: Our malfunctioning AI now has random quotes, sarcasm and "reaction lines" (yet to be implemented)
- First procedural weapon: "Laser Machine Gun" Built from 7 modular parts with infinite color combinations. Over 700+ total variants are possible so far.
- Crafting machine and animations: Includes working lift, placement and build sequences.
- Gamepad support: Controller input now works across all core gameplay systems including (combat & movement)
- Inventory system (base) Tracks weapons, DNA, and artifacts. Core functionality is stable (but not complete)
- Audio system: Sound effects are now implemented across all gameplay interactions.
- Scanner and radar: Can now be equipped or unequipped like any other inventory item.
- Ship piloting & line rendering: Initial line-renderer tests for visuals are underway.
Weapons system: Supports multiple types:
- Pistol
- Shotgun
- Machine Gun (Now Procedurally Generated!)
- Rocket Launcher (in progress) Each includes shooting, reload, fire rate, and ammo handling logic.
